Jhootha Hi Sahi is Abbase Tyrewala's 2nd directorial venture and his first 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' was big hit and critically acclaimed. This movie has the burden of the success of 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and a lot was being expected from the director. The Script is written by his wife Pakhi who also plays the lead lady in the movie opposite John. Quite a unusual pair considering John who is 6'4", Pakhi is less the 5'5".
The story is about a loss confident guy and a girl who wants to commit suicide because her boyfriend has left her. Siddharth (John) finds him in a situation where he has to help Mishka (Pakhi) and convince her on phone to not attempt suicide. As expected she doesn't die and they start talking on phone where Siddharth lies to her about his profession and other things. Everything goes well untill they meet. Siddharth recognize her and start impressing her by telling something about her.
The movie goes around a lot of twist and turns which makes you unblink your eyes. The pace of movie is really good. Also Raghu hoes justice to his part. The rumors of movie being inspired from friends are not true and i dont find any similarity between them. The positives about the movie are its Script, Screenplay and cool relaxed environment. The negatives are its Unsual pair, bad acting by pakhi, un required excitement in climax.
I'll give it 3 / 5
